NATSAVE Donates K150,000 Towards Funeral Expenses – Chilubi Island
NATSAVE contributed K150,000 to help cover funeral costs for 14 Seventh Day Adventist young people from Chilubi East who perished when their boat sank on Lake Bangweulu.
Vice President Mrs. WK Mutale Nalumango received the donation and characterized the incident as "criminal negligence by the people who were entrusted with the safety of the deceased youths."
The Vice President commended NATSAVE for treating Chilubi residents as family members and encouraged other organizations to follow their example.
NATSAVE CEO Malcolm Chabala stated that the deaths represented "a dark period for the Bank," noting that NATSAVE operates as the sole bank branch in Chilubi. He emphasized that the organization's "Customer First" principle guides its commitment to serving local communities.
Chabala pledged ongoing corporate responsibility and financial inclusion efforts throughout Zambia.
The Chinese Youths Entrepreneurs Association in Zambia coordinated alongside NATSAVE, donating 1,200 bags of mealie meal and 504 bottles of cooking oil to affected families.
